serious stuff. AIDS lifecycle. exciting news.

i rarely post anything serious on tumblr, its mostly pictures of butts and cats and latte art.

today i have something to say.  everyone please read this and take it seriously.

lately i have thought a lot about what im doing with my life.  for the last 9 years i have amassed a huge fan base and following on the internet by trying to be as entertaining as humanly possible.  i have reached a level of professional success that has been extremely fulfilling and want to do more for my spiritual side.

i have always been very discrete about my charitable endeavors, in part, because i have always felt that contributing to any cause was extremely personal and nobody else’s business.  when i donate my time, money, goods or services to any organization i do it to benefit what they stand for and not to draw attention to myself by saying “look at this great thing im doing”

recently i was asked to support someone who is very close to me in a AIDS charity lifecycle ride and was inspired to see how much i could do to make a difference.

the concept of lifefcycle is that a person pledges to ride a bike 545 MILES from san francisco to los angeles over 7 days and then gets people to sponsor them to raise money that goes to the san francisco aids foundation and the los angeles gay & lesbian center.

i truly admire the sacrifice and commitment it takes to train for such a long bike ride. the amount of time spent on not only physical conditioning and training, but also to the actual fundraising itself, is astronomical.  it is what’s inspired me to do all i can to contribute and to humble myself to be more public about my desire to give back to the causes that i so desperately believe in and want to support.

i’m asked my fans, friends, family, neighbors, colleagues and complete strangers to join me in sponsoring someone who is taking on this challenge to benefit a cause much greater than himself.

i have reached many goals for myself personally and professionally, it is time for me to set goals which benefit many more outside myself and then exceed them.

i got the news today that girlfriend’s films will be joining me in the sponsorship of one rider in this year’s AIDS lifecycle charity ride.  i am so very grateful to the good people at girlfriends, not only do they produce an excellent product but are kind, generous, honest and good to the people not only who support them, but also the people who work with them.

if you have read this far, i thank you very much.

please become a sponsor joining me and girlfriend’s films in this years charity AIDS lifecycle ride
